Description
Heavy compute analysis for C-0. Characterize the continuum on the actual 15,668 x 15,668 sequence-level Jaccard object without abusing the head node. First inspect available cached RDS/TSV sizes and scripts. If computation is needed, write and submit an sbatch job to tux/compute nodes, with conservative memory and I/O. Do not zcat/scan the 10.8 GB similarity TSV on the head node.
Target outputs under paper_prep/manuscript_revision/C0_continuum/: sequence-level similarity distribution, high-similarity peak/background summary, q-arm/C6 neighborhood density versus background when definable, and a report C0b_sequence_level_report.md. If Slurm is unavailable or runtime is too high, leave a ready sbatch script and exact command.
Validation
- Does not run heavy similarity-matrix scans on head node
- Provides sbatch script and job ID or clear not-run reason
- Provides outputs/report if job completes
- Explains whether data support a continuous background with high-similarity peaks

- 2026-06-17T15:34:11.410932612+00:00 Wrote Slurm-safe C0_continuum analyzer and sbatch wrapper using cached sequence-level distance RDS rather than head-node TSV scanning.
- 2026-06-17T15:34:24.740959462+00:00 Submitted Slurm job 1703691: sbatch paper_prep/manuscript_revision/C0_continuum/scripts/run_sequence_continuum.sbatch; partition allnodes, 1 node, 1 task, 4 CPUs, 80G, 08:00:00; stdout/stderr under C0_continuum/logs/.
- 2026-06-17T15:38:06.512697726+00:00 Cancelled job 1703691 after TSV outputs were written because R hung while opening PNG device; patched analyzer to make required TSV/report outputs only.
- 2026-06-17T15:38:38.190768556+00:00 Submitted replacement Slurm job 1703692 after removing optional PNG generation; same resources and inputs as 1703691.
- 2026-06-17T15:43:57.260312443+00:00 Validated: Slurm job 1703692 completed exit 0; required sequence distribution, high-similarity summary, C6 density table, peaks table, logs, scripts, and report exist; no heavy TSV scan was run on the head node.
