KEY NUMBERS: Mantel ρ across leptotene/zygotene/pachytene/diplotene = 0.687 / 0.718 / 0.683 / 0.577. Per-arm-pair correlation peaks at zygotene ρ=0.715, p=4.4e-55, n=344. Mouse T2T B6 + CAST; 39 p-arm flanks have signal (q-arm zero — telocentric). REQUIRED: NEW slide. THE PITCH: bulk human Hi-C is somatic (LCLs are mitotic) but the recombination we explain is meiotic. Mouse zygotene Hi-C is the only meiotic 3D map available, and the Mantel ρ peaks AT THE BOUQUET STAGE when telomeres cluster at the nuclear envelope.
