Description

Fix the layout of the unbanded Fig5 synteny schematic after remove-fake-banding. The banding is removed, but visual review of fig5_synteny_recombination_full.svg shows the coordinate/note text colliding with event summary labels in the autosomal panels.

Scope:

  • Work only in paper_prep/_brainstorming/fig5_synteny_recombination_schematic/.
  • Keep the plain unbanded terminal-window tracks. Do not reintroduce any alternating grey stripes, pseudo-bands, cytobands, or g-band-like styling.
  • Preserve the source/product/source layout, native 0-500 kb local coordinate axis, absolute native window start/end labels, p-left/q-right telomeres, and caveat markers.
  • Adjust text placement/wording/sizing so the full schematic is legible: coordinate note, role totals, event title/transmission, axis labels, and track labels must not overlap in the rendered full asset.
  • Regenerate fig5_synteny_recombination_full.svg and .pdf with Guix librsvg/rsvg-convert. It is acceptable if focus regenerates mechanically, but do not redesign it.
  • Update README/VISUAL_REVIEW only if wording changes matter.

Validation

  • Full schematic remains unbanded.
  • No visible text overlap in fig5_synteny_recombination_full.svg / .pdf, especially the autosomal panels.
  • 0-500 kb coordinate ticks and native window start/end labels remain visible.
  • Source/product/source layout and caveat markers are preserved.
  • PDF regenerated with Guix rsvg-convert.
