Description

Description

Erik is at the form, ready to paste. v3.1 on main (workgraph_google_application_FINAL_v3_1.md, commit 986222f) has 7 outstanding bugs that landed in other artifacts but never merged back to v3.1 itself. This task consolidates ALL of them into v3.1 so it becomes the single source of truth for paste.

Time-boxed: ≤8 min. NO new content beyond what other artifacts already specify. Pure mechanical edit + commit + push.

What to read

  1. workgraph_google_application_FINAL_v3_1.md (current main)
  2. ~/poietic.life/notes/v3-1-form-mapping-paste-guide-20260502.md (form-mapping audit fixes)
  3. ~/poietic.life/notes/vaughn-agency-edits-applied-20260502.md (Vaughn agency edits)

The 7 fixes to apply (verbatim from those source notes)

  1. §5b (line 31): Replace literal [leave blank] with empty (just remove that line's content, leaving the field blank). If the form has 'no value' as a valid answer, leave blank. If it requires text, use (none).

  2. §8d Erik timezone (line 43): US Eastern (ET)US Central (CT)

  3. §9d Luca timezone (line 49): KEEP as US Eastern (ET) — Luca is at MGH/Boston, this is correct.

  4. §15 Project stage (line 71): Proof of Concept / Preliminary ResultsValidated Methodology

  5. §17c Vaughn line (line 107): Replace Tan's research on hybrid teams under uncertainty (ASQ; Columbia University Press) provides the methodological frame. with Tan's hybrid-teams-under-uncertainty research (ASQ 2015; Columbia 2020) drives WorkGraph's agency framework, the subsystem developing agent primitives. Recount §17c to ≤75 words after edit.

  6. §26 Vaughn end (line 194): Apply both Erik trims and Vaughn add per the vaughn-edits note:

    • with ~72,000 Google Scholar citations across the toolkitwith ~72,000 citations across the toolkit
    • leads the NSF PPoSS LARGE award ($5M) for computational pangenomicsleads NSF PPoSS LARGE ($5M) for pangenomics
    • End of paragraph: ...Singapore Centre for Strategic Futures....Singapore Centre for Strategic Futures; designed WorkGraph's agency framework that develops agent primitives.
    • Final word count target: 150/150
  7. §29 / §30 form mapping: v3.1 currently has §29 = Theory of change (200w) and §30 = Risks (100w). The actual Google.org form has §29 = Risks (200w) and §30 = Key team members (100w). The paste guide already produced the correct §29 (Risks 184/200w) and §30 (team roles 85/100w, no individual names). REMAP these in v3.1:

    • Replace v3.1's §29 (Theory of change) with the paste guide's §29 (Risks). Keep the §29 number.
    • Replace v3.1's §30 (Risks) with the paste guide's §30 (Team roles, with the agency framework mention from vaughn-edits applied). Keep the §30 number.
    • The Theory of change content currently at v3.1 §29 has no slot in the form. Either drop it OR keep it at the bottom as a non-form 'background' note that won't be pasted.
  8. §49 / §50 (lines 351, 354): No / NoYes / Yes (per form-mapping audit: founders at public universities — UTHSC and UCL — count as govt persons).

  9. §53 (line 363): N/A → the explanation drafted in the paste guide (75 words). If the paste guide's exact text isn't available, use: Founders Garrison and Tan are employees of public universities (UTHSC and UCL respectively); Pinello is at MGH / Harvard Medical School / Broad Institute. None of these institutions are direct project recipients. Project funding flows to Poietic PBC. Founder time on the project is contributed under university policies for outside engagement.

After applying all edits

  1. Recount every touched section's word count (§17c, §26, §29, §30, §53) against form caps. Tighten if any section is over.
  2. Style sweep: no em-dashes, no PI/lead PI, founder order Erik / Luca / Vaughn, no v1 terms.
  3. Commit the changes to main with a clear message: consolidate paste-blocking fixes into v3.1 (timezone, stage, govt-persons, agency framework). Do NOT amend prior commits — create a new commit on top of 986222f.
  4. Push to remote if there is one (this repo may not have a remote — that's fine, local commit is enough).
  5. wg log summary listing every fix applied with verified word counts.

Output

~/poietic.life/notes/v3-1-paste-source-of-truth-20260502.md (under 400 words):

  • One-paragraph confirmation that v3.1 is now paste-ready
  • Table of fixes applied with section + before / after / final word count
  • Single commit hash for the consolidation
  • 'Paste from v3.1 only — paste guide and vaughn-edits notes are now redundant'

Constraints

  • HARD: do NOT introduce new content beyond what's in the source notes. Pure mechanical merge.
  • HARD: every word cap respected.
  • HARD: no em-dashes, no PI, no v1, no recursion.
  • HARD: time-boxed ≤8 min wall-clock.

Validation

  • All 9 fixes applied to v3.1 in place
  • §17c ≤75 words
  • §26 = 150 words
  • §29 (now Risks) ≤200 words
  • §30 (now Team roles, no names) ≤100 words
  • §53 explanation present
  • Committed to main (new commit, not amend)
  • Output note at ~/poietic.life/notes/v3-1-paste-source-of-truth-YYYYMMDD.md

ERIK CORRECTION (urgent, do this before edit #4): SKIP fix #4. Do NOT change §15. KEEP it as 'Proof of Concept / Preliminary Results.'

Reasoning: the form-mapping audit's recommendation to promote to 'Validated Methodology' was wrong. Erik called this out and I agree.

The form defines Validated Methodology as 'approach rigorously tested, peer-reviewed, or applied successfully to a relevant dataset.' For components (vg, PGGB, CRISPRme), yes. For the PROPOSED WORK (longitudinal hybrid human-AI coordination producing auditable computation graphs across 10-50 adopter labs + BioBench community), no — that's exactly what the grant funds VALIDATING. Claiming it's already validated contradicts §29's honest 'reviewers may want science deliverable' risk and the §43-§46 milestones that build out validation over 36 months.

PoC / Preliminary Results is the honest answer. KEEP §15 as currently written. Apply the other 8 fixes (1-3, 5-9) as specified.

Acknowledged Erik's correction. Reverted §15 to 'Proof of Concept / Preliminary Results' in a new commit. The promotion to Validated Methodology contradicted the §29 risks framing and §43-§46 milestone structure (which describes building validation over 36 months). Other 8 fixes (§5b, §8d, §17c, §26, §29/§30 remap, §49, §50, §53) are correctly applied and remain. Updating output note now.
